Smart!Centres Meetings to be Set Up

It seems there wasn't a meeting of the minds between Salmon Arm Councilor Kevin Flynn and Mayor Marty Bootsma over who will organize and host a meeting with Smart!Centres. Flynn says that Council should take the lead but Bootsma told Flynn he already planned a meeting with Smart!Centres, while Smart!Centers proposed to organize it themselves.

The meeting will also invite the City, the Salmon Arm Development Society, the Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Improvement Association and CASSA to deal with the issues and the impact the development will have on local businesses.

Bootsma said he didn't think they needed a special council meeting to deal with it so he and Councilor Ivan Idzan were the only ones opposed to Flynn's motion that Council as a whole meets with the various groups.
