Olympic Torch relay

Councilor Debbie Cannon said she would like to see the 2010 Olympics torch come through Salmon Arm.

But so far, Salmon Arm isn't in the running.

"And when I looked at the proposal in there, it didn't even really have us mapped in the proposal that different communities had put forward. I mean we didn't put forward a proposal."

Apparently there was regional rep who didn't put forward Salmon Arm as a possible stopping point.

However Mayor Marty Bootsma said he would work on getting the City on the torch relay tour.
