Shooting Suspect Out on Bail

A suspect charged with firing a handgun in his Salmon Arm Best Western Hotel Room was released by the courts at a bail hearing yesterday.

The incident prompted involvement of the Emergency Response Team and RCMP sealed off the area along the TransCanada, evacuated the hotel and stopped traffic along the CPR mainline for 3 1/2 hours. No one was hurt.

28-year-old Jason Raymond Murray of Mission is due to enter a plea on June 10th.
