Gene Farris

Though Gene Farris is one in the new school of Chicago DJ/producers, his sound looks back to disco and funk even more than the requisite house sound of the Windy City. He recorded singles for Cajmere's Cajual/Relief and European labels Force Inc. and Soma before his debut album Fruity Green appeared in 1997 on Force Inc. After one more album for the label (1998's Planet House), he moved to Soma for This Is My Religion in 2000. Booked 02 followed in spring 2001. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
