Hanno Leichtmann's debut as Static surpassed many similar albums that made a conscious attempt to bring logic back to the ever-fractioning and progressively socially intolerant community of post-rock-influenced intelligent techno. Thanks to the occasional guest vocal appearances of Tarwater's Ronald Lippok and Justine Electra, Eject Your Mind had a curving, meditative feel. Twitched-out noises, often the beginning and end of many IDM LPs, rebounded off a soft wall of vinyl grooves, pop hooks, tickly keyboards, and micro-dub bass, and the result was unquestionably pleasant, much like Björk's Vespertine with better ideas, while still slightly off with claustrophobic underscoring and a kind of toy-box tunefulness.
